SWEEPING INNOCENCE UNDER THE RUG
Governor Rick Perry is said to have 'pressured' now replaced Samuel Basset. Pressuring is bad enough. Replacing the individual because they did not bow to your desire to hide the killing of an innocent man? Investigating whether the innocent have been killed, while ugly, is a necessary element of good government. Why? Generally to avoid the same mistake in the future we look to our past and learn from it. Sadly and ironically this news comes from the Chicago Tribune. Why arent Chicago newspapers breaking this story? How is such a thing missed? Are the powers that be so strong as to silence the press? Maybe its just not newsworthy. The powers that be are strong enough to silence the investigation. This we know: "Beyler was scheduled to discuss the case at an Oct. 2 commission meeting in Dallas, but three days before the meeting, Perry replaced Bassett and two other commission members, Alan Levy, a prosecutor from Fort Worth, and Aliece Watts, a forensic scientist. Perry named John Bradley, a conservative prosecutor, to replace Bassett as chairman.."
"Bradley's first order of business was to cancel the public meeting early this month at which Beyler was scheduled to discuss his investigation with the commission."
