What exactly am I missing here? Surely there must be some essential piece of logic in this puzzle which is hidden.

One country is sending missiles into the other country. The attacked country fights back and people are protesting their response? Amidst a cease fire missiles are continued to be sent and somehow the attacked country is the bad guy. Isn't it all of our obligations to protect our family? If someone was throwing rocks through your window wouldn't you do what is necessary to stop them?
